The challenge
At MPC, PI data quality was being questioned, and AVEVA Health Audits were indicating systemic issues across all sites. The methods used to complete those health audits, and to update sites to meet new cybersecurity rules, were held back by limited site and AVEVA support.
They needed a partner who understood the PI System deeply enough to bring order and governance across the fleet.
What we did
Early work with Industrial Insight, including Pattern Discovery's Compression Insights, showed a strong skill set around the PI System and data health. From there, we built PowerShell scripts and PI automation to replace the manual, repetitive work that was eating up expert time.
The result
The scripts eliminated the need for multiple subject matter experts to spend one to two weeks onsite manually screen scraping information. With them in place, MPC now has the ability to monitor and provide governance of the site PI Systems across the fleet.
